Trade and Development Bank participated in the International Forum on Women's Capacity Building for Asian Countries

The International Forum on Women's Empowerment in Asian Countries, organized by the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China and the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), was successfully held in Beijing from June 11 to June 24, 2025. This event aimed to enhance collaboration among stakeholders operating within the framework of sustainable development goals, highlight key ongoing initiatives, empower small and medium-sized enterprises, accelerate regional development, and share international experiences and initiatives.

Trade and Development Bank (TDB), in collaboration with the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), has signed an agreement to implement the "SFME" project aimed at empowering small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Mongolia and improving access to sustainable financing. This project, will be implemented from March 2024 to June 2026, will focus on enhancing the financial literacy of SME owners, training bank staff to work with SMEs according to international standards, and increasing awareness of sustainable financing. The project will include training sessions, seminars, and meetings, as well as specialized consulting services and initiatives to foster multi-stakeholder cooperation.

During the seminar, fruitful discussions were held on China's gender equality initiatives, the implementation of the United Nations (UN) 2030 goals, new ideas and initiatives within this framework, innovative technological solutions for sustainable development, legal regulations, emerging innovative organizations, the path and characteristics of women's development, and forces contributing to new developments of China. 

Particularly at the seminar themed “Collaboration between the UN and the Private Sector for Gender Equality, Sustainable, and Inclusive Development,” TDB representatives had a chance to share about the bank’s latest initiatives in gender equality, SME development, sustainable development, and green financing.

TDB has been a pioneer in integrating the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) risk management system into its operations. The bank has incorporated the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into its core activities, consistently leading the advancement of sustainable finance in Mongolia. In 2024, TDB was recognized as the Gender Champion Organization by the Mongolian Sustainable Finance Association, further contributing significantly to promoting gender equality and spearheading sustainable development efforts.
