In celebration of the 95th anniversary of Mongolia’s banking sector, the annual "Best ToC Bank" competition was held by the Bank of Mongolia and the Mongolian Sustainable Finance (ToC) Association. This competition aims to enhance risk management practices, integrate globally recognized principles of sustainable finance, and promote environmentally and socially responsible practices within the financial system. The 2019 competition ran from March 1 to October 31.
On December 5, 2019, Trade and Development Bank (TDB) was named the overall winner across all categories, earning the title of "Best ToC Bank" for the third time.
TDB has been a pioneer in implementing the Environmental and Social Risk Management System (ESRMS), introducing this comprehensive concept to Mongolia as the first commercial bank in 2012. In 2019, the bank updated its ESRMS policies and guidelines, aligning its gender policies with international standards to support Sustainable Development Goal 5: Achieving gender equality.
Additionally, TDB incorporated energy and resource efficiency and waste management practices into its operations, ensuring that all levels of its activities align with sustainability and environmental and social responsibility goals.
