Switched to the IBAN Standard
Starting April 1, 2025, all commercial bank, government and private financial institutions operating in Mongolia have successfully switched to the International Bank Account Number (IBAN) standard by international standards. Please note that all customers must use only the IBAN account number for interbank transactions.
However, for transactions between TDB accounts, it is not necessary to use an IBAN account number.
IBAN (International Bank Account Number) is a 20-digit customer account number generated according to the ISO13616-1,2 standard that can be used for interbank and international transactions.
Advantages of using IBAN account numbers:
Easy to check whether the account number is correct.
Immediately identify which bank account it is.
Transaction returns due to incorrect accounts will be reduced.
Therefore, we recommend that customers make interbank transactions using only the IBAN account number in under international standards set by regulatory organizations.
