Trade and Development Bank participated in the “Mongolian Investment Forum: New York 2025”

8 May 2025

Randolph S. Koppa, Chairman of the Trade and Development Bank (“TDB”), represented TDB at "Mongolian Investment Forum: New York 2025" which was successfully organized by Capital Markets Mongolia (“CMM”) to promote the development of Mongolia's capital market internationally and expand cooperation.

During the forum, a diverse array of stakeholders—including international financial institutions, investors, policymakers, and representatives from the private sector—engaged in discussions regarding global economic trends and the growth of Mongolia's capital market. Key discussion topics included financial stability, poverty reduction, the expansion of access to green finance, and the development of a climate-resilient financial system.

Mr. Koppa highlighted that although the energy transition faces challenges in terms of investment, policy, and legal environment, Mongolia, through the efforts of the government and the private sector, is creating a favorable policy environment for attracting investments that are aligned with the needs, conditions, and energy resources of Mongolia, which is a step towards accelerating the energy transition. The importance of energy transition and sustainable development was emphasized, increasing their roles in reducing greenhouse gas emissions across critical sectors of the Mongolian economy and enhancing the country's resilience to climate change while promoting green economic growth.

As an accredited entity of the Green Climate Fund, TDB is committed to contributing to sustainable development across all sectors of the Mongolian economy. To facilitate a successful energy transition, TDB is focusing on adopting best practices in the development of Mongolia’s financial market, attracting foreign investment and financing, expanding collaboration with both national and international partners, and implementing strategies for a green transition.
