“SFME” Project to Promote Sustainable Financing

14 March 2024

The Trade and Development Bank of Mongolia (TDB) and the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) have signed an agreement to jointly implement the "SFME" project. This initiative aims to empower small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Mongolia and enhance their access to sustainable financing.

Scheduled to run from March 2024 to June 2026, the project is designed to support Mongolia’s sustainable development and green future objectives. Its core focus is to increase financial inclusion for SMEs. Key activities under the project include improving SMEs' financial literacy, training TDB personnel working with SMEs to meet international standards, and raising awareness of sustainable financing through workshops, seminars, and meetings. The project will also deliver specialized consultancy services and promote multi-stakeholder cooperation.

The initiative is co-funded by TDB and GIZ under the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ)’s DeveloPPP.de program, which fosters partnerships between public and private sectors.
